French Clay Water Jug with Mustard Glaze

The most beautiful late19th Century French water Jug with mustard glaze over pale yellow clay. This beautiful piece makes the most gorgeous ornamental piece bringing shape, texture and character to any corner or for some delicate flowers. 

Each pot was hand made on the potter’s wheel in France in the late 1900s. No two pots are ever identical and they bear the makers marks in terms of imperfections, fingerprints and irregularities to the glazed surface. Used originally to serve water each is a unique and each region of France had a slightly different style dependant on the local clay used.

These are one of a kind vintage pieces. Pieces may have very subtle imperfections and wear from years of use. We embrace these as part of the items inherent beauty and story.
